“I am not enough”
Do you feel like you are not enough? Marisa Peer has said that there are three main limiting beliefs, and pretty much everyone is controlled by one or more of them.
The first of these is the belief that “I am not enough”. Feeling like an imposter, feeling that you are not good enough to do what is expected of you, or what you aspire to do, is very common.
It can stem from some tiny comment someone you respected made when you were a child, or it could be from a long-held belief that you are inadequate in some area. It can be reinforced by dwelling on your mistakes or failures, and leads to a very deep lack of confidence in many areas of your life.
To overcome this limiting belief, you need to forgive yourself for your failures, and celebrate your successes. Look back on things you have done in the past that seemed hard at the time, but which you can now do easily. Riding a bike, driving a car, getting a job, marrying the person you love – these are all things that happen in the everyday life of many people, that can be celebrated if you feel yourself dwelling on your perceived inadequacies.
